Kris is a seasoned, dynamic business leader who has driven sustainable growth for emerging biotech and multibillion-dollar pharmaceutical enterprises. As a Procurement executive, Kris has rare depth as a change leader who has set and executed roadmaps to build, scale, and integrate a global procurement function through 2 greenfield builds, 3 business transitions, and 4 integrations post restructure or acquisition. This experience has honed his abilities to translate long-term corporate strategy into short-term business needs and team actions, and established his foundational understanding that enduring partnerships drive top-line revenue.

Most recently, Kris was the Executive Director, Head of North America Procurement at GSK. In this role, Kris was hired to transform the Consumer and Pharmaceutical Procurement teams in North America across Performance, Innovation, and Culture. The scope of this role including all Indirect spend outside of R&D and Manufacturing. Kris led Procurement’s COVID-19 response covering PPE supply management, testing, and vaccinations and was a member of the Country Executive Board. Kris led a cross-functional effort to optimize procure-to-pay processes, launched an ERP interface and established or elevated the Procurement function’s presence on all leadership and governing bodies.

Previously, Kris was the Senior Director, Head of Procurement and Procurement Services at Roivant Sciences. In this role and as the first Procurement hire, Kris was tasked with building a Procurement function capable of serving the Roivant business and compelling enough to earn business from Roivant affiliates. Kris quickly became a trusted advisor to Roivant founders for efficiently implementing business operations including Procurement’s roadmap, strategic partnerships, functional budgets, and organizational design. Kris helped leadership prioritize investment and resource allocation to gain buy-in from affiliate executive committee’s on Roivant’s new Procurement capability and value proposition.

In addition to these roles, Kris gained significant experience as the Head of Sales and Marketing Procurement at Shire, as the Sourcing & Supply Chain Managing Director at Amazon, and in nearly a decade of service at Merck & Co., Inc., where Kris started his career as a vaccine manufacturing supervisor within the Manufacturing Management Development Program.

Kris earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Chemical Engineering, and an Honor’s Degree with Distinction from the University for his research on “Directed Evolution of Escherichia coli K-12 using Genomic Knockouts”.
