Subject Matter Expert
Brian Bastean is a clinically educated marketing, pricing, access, and reimbursement leader with over 30 years’ experience in the pharmacy industry. During his two decades at Johnson & Johnson, he developed and executed novel positions designed to address upcoming changes in the health care environment. Brian is passionate about driving sales through appropriate use of treatment modalities leading to optimal patient outcomes. He is fortunate to have experience in multiple roles of direct patient care and the industry. This affords him the holistic marketplace approach to address current and future business challenges.
Before joining J&J, Brian practiced clinical pharmacy and implemented the infectious disease pharmacokinetic consulting service at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, BJC Health System, in St. Louis, Missouri. During his clinical practice role, Brian was also a consultant for several pharmaceutical companies and involved in their national speaker programs.
Upon leaving J&J, Brian started Value-Based Outcomes Evidence and Value-Based Health Informatics which focus on the acquisition and utilization of relevant clinical and behavioral insights leading to optimal medical resource utilization. Most recently, Brian founded PharmAlliance Group, LLC which is working with a company to improve consumer trust of hemp-based products through an internationally recognized product certification program.
Brian has a BS in Pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and MBA in Pharmaceutical Marketing from St. Joseph’s University Haub School of Business.
Brian lives in New Hope Pennsylvania with his wife and two sons. He enjoys spending free time with his family and as a volunteer first responder and for the local Scouting programs.
