Immersion in Our Industry’s Innovations

2014-2017 “Adapt or Die” Series

The imperative to expand our professional vision drives us all. Immersion in our industry’s innovations helps us prepare wisely, collaborate effectively, and lead passionately. The Zensights “Adapt or Die” series assembles senior leaders from the Life Science community – including Pharma Manufacturers, Academia, and Strategic Suppliers – to discuss viewpoints and examine trends shaping our business.

The Adapt or Die meeting series is exclusive to Zensights Members Only subscribers and executive panelists. These special events feature dialog and networking with industry leaders in a private setting augmented by our proprietary research and thought leadership presentations.

In our 2014-2017 meeting series, we are honored to feature Lieutenant General (Ret.) Rick Lynch, an expert on Adaptive Leadership and its potential applications in the Pharmaceutical Industry. General Lynch will share his insights on how the U.S. Military’s transformation parallels some of the challenges that are facing the Pharmaceutical industry today. His most recently published book, which inspired this meeting series, is available on Amazon: Adapt or Die: Leadership Principles from an American General.

Along with industry executives, we will lead discussions addressing the challenges Life Science companies face while driving their business strategy. The meetings feature a facilitated round table discussion comprised of three senior executives discussing the latest trends within the Pharmaceutical industry. All of this takes place in a congenial environment that actively seeks personal interaction, knowledge sharing, and conversation.

Length: 22 pages (PDF)
Target Audience: BioPharma, Payers, Suppliers

Zensights has long been supportive of both the pharmaceutical industry and the military. The Adapt or Die meeting series has highlighted the good both entities do and the challenges that currently face our service personnel and their families.

“Too often people jump to the conclusion that diversity is a race or gender issue, which of course it can be. However, a dominant theme from many of the panelists at this meeting was that true diversity also impacts your thinking.”

We are now engaged in our country’s longest running military conflict, which has taken a toll on so many families. The previous Dallas Adapt or Die meeting highlighted the recovery challenges of our Veterans, which prompted Secretary of the Veteran Affairs, Dr. David Shulkin to call for a public / private partnership to address mental health issues. “At the heart of every Soldier must be unwavering character. Character is what defines us.”

I’m sure every executive would include “character” in the list of attributes they are looking for in their leadership team members.

In fact, many might have it at the top of the list. But how many organizations have programs in place to continually develop the character of the members of their teams? And if they do, how would they monitor and measure the success of their efforts? Read the Meeting Summary & Recommendations for the event held on April 8, 2016 in West Point, NY.
